QASA Receives Award
QASA was acknowledged with an “Achievers” award in the category Community Development by the Mayor of eThekweni Municipality for our projects Free our Innocent, the KZN Digital Village and iPhepha Emonsondweni (Wheeling payphones) Project:
“Free our Innocent”; many wheelchair users in Chesterville were imprisoned by inaccessible environments and now prisoners from the neighboring correctional service facility have helped to free these people by creating ramps and scoops which make the environment accessible
“KwaZulu-Natal Digital Village”; bridging the skills gap & securing employment for persons with disabilities in KwaZulu-Natal through free computer training and employment solutions.
“iPhepa Emansondweni’ (wheeling payphones); providing quadriplegics and paraplegics with an entrepreneurial opportunity through the provision of Adondo mobile phone units to sell airtime and other related goods.
QASA is thrilled to be the recipient of a Mayors Award of Excellence, it is a prestigious accomplishment. It is QASA’s mission to develop the lives and opportunities for persons with spinal cord injuries and these 3 projects have worked in unison to make an enormous impact on the participants.
