QASA BEACH WHEELCHAIR PROJECT
Do you love the beach, but your wheelchair won’t cope with the sand and the sea? QASA have 3 beach wheelchairs deployed at key points in Durban and one down the Natal South Coast (Southbroom) for people with disabilities to use at no charge. The beach going wheelchairs allow persons with mobility impairment the opportunity to be pushed easily over beach sand down to the waters edge and in calm conditions, with no shore break, one can float safely on the water.
When was the last time you dipped your feet in the ocean or took a dip in the waves? You can make arrangements to use these beach wheelchairs through the following contacts:
DURBAN
Di – Ocean Ventures at Ushaka Marine World – 086 100 1138
Alan – Marine Lifesaving – 101 Beach Durban – 076 877 5143 (North of Ushaka Marine World)
SOUTH COAST
David – Granny’s Pool, Southbroom – 039 312 2448 / 082 300 4283 . More...
